Where are the classes held?

The classes are held in two beautiful rooms at the Church of Truth in James Bay, Victoria BC: 111 Superior St.: The early morning Flow class is held in the Sanctuary Room (main entrance) and the lunchtime Restorative is held in the smaller Yellow Room (side entrance). Parking:– Some parking available around back of the church, some st parking on St Lawrence St (West side) and in front of building, and at Fisherman’s Wharf lot.

  • a) Therapeutic Yoga focus will rotate on easing different body areas: Shoulders, Back, Hips, etc.
  • b) Chair Yoga for Seniors – Gentle, but very effective yoga asanas and breathing practice, specifically sequenced for seniors.

*Holistic Yoga Morning Slow Flow*: Suitable for all levels, this wonderful class emphasises peace and calm in the mind, body and spirit as you move through a flow of naturally progessing assanas (poses), set to a backdrop of quietly calming, meditative music. By moving with more awareness, we are calming the nervous system – moving into the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps us to rest and relax and calms nerves and anxiety. What a way to start a Friday!

This class is currently running on Friday mornings 8 am – 8:50 am. Timed for work/school/ commitments – Option to stay for extra 5-10 minutes of Savasana at end). Held in the beautiful ambience of the sanctuary room…

Restorative Yoga – Yoga Nidra

*Holistic Restorative Yoga*: A smaller, restful, supported class with mostly seated/floor asanas held for longer/extended periods. This is a nourishing, meditative practice that can provide physical and emotional healing and self-compassion through prolonged, supported stretches and conscious relaxation, and then moving into Yoga Nidra meditation. Suitable for all levels.

This class is currently running on Fridays: – 12:00 noon – 12:50 pm. Timed for work/school/ commitments – Option to stay for extra 5-10 minutes of Savasana at end). Held in the smaller calming yellow room (side entrance)…Held in the calming ambience of the smaller yellow room (side entrance).

Therapeutic Yoga

Therapeutic yoga is a smaller class, run once per month (or more often: – as per demand!) on Friday lunchtime/afternoons. This class is mat-based – mostly laying/seated positions (chairs available if needed for stability) and will focus on specific body areas that tend to get tightness, strain or injury or general achiness. We will use balls, blocks, straps, blankets, etc. to help work out some of those areas.

Chair Yoga for Seniors (monthly)

This class will also run once per month on a Friday (unless there is demand/requests for more!). Classes/sequences will be gentle, yet effective – access via the side door of the building (there will be a sign). You don’t have to be a senior:- If you feel this class might be better suited for you, please feel free to join the class/sign up! Priced at a discounted rate.

Private/Individual Personalized Yoga sessions

*Individual private yoga (one person) sessions are also available in your home, or on site via prior arrangement. Prices range around $60-$90/hr. Please contact me directly, if this is something you are interested in.

Private/Friends Mini ‘We’-Treat:

**After something special for you or sharing a treat with a friend? Private Driftwood Wellness (We)Treat: Book a 1.5hr -2hr Yoga+Treatment package for yourself or with a friend: ($90 – $135 for one person, $150 – $179 (total) for 2 persons (3 persons or more may be possible upon request). Please contact me directly, if this is something you are interested in or want to know more. Package consists of:

  • 30-45 minute Holistic Restorative Yoga+ Yoga Nidra
  • 30-45 minute aromatherapy massage treatment (for one or two persons – one at a time, second person can stay and read/relax, or go for a walk in local area (recommend Fisherman;s Wharf!)
  • Includes personalized mini aromatherapy blend to take home

A) $90 for one person: 30 mins Private Restorative + Yoga Nidra AND 30 mins Aromatherapy massage Back, Face, + Mini Reflexology treatment.

B) $120 for one person: 45 mins Private Restorative + Yoga Nidra AND 45 mins Aromatherapy massage Back, Face, + Mini Reflexology treatment.

C) Duo: $179 (total cost for both persons) for two: 45 mins Private Restorative + Yoga Nidra (together) AND 30-40 mins Aromatherapy massage Back, Face, + Mini Reflexology treatment each person.

*Option to swap out Massage treatment for Reiki treatment instead. Pls inform at time of booking.

Private Group Yoga / Treatments Party Booking:

How about hosting your very own Yoga session for your friends/family with individual massage, reflexology and reiki treatments in your own home/location?

Prices vary depending on requirements (i.e.: day/time, location, no. of guests, no. and length of therapies etc.,) starting at $400 for a 45 min Group Yoga session and 3 x 30 min therapy treatments (Reiki, Reflexology or Aroma Back Massage). Please contact me to discuss details and for a quote.

What should I bring to a class?

  • Bring your yoga mat – if you do not have your own mat currently, please let me know and I will have one waiting for you to use. 🙂

You may also wish to bring:

  • a towel
  • a water/drink
  • intake form (for your first class with me) – or email the form back to me.
  • a blanket if you wish and are attending the Restorative class.
  • You are also welcome to bring any of your own props if you like/prefer!

What should I wear to a yoga class?

  • Shorts/leggings/yoga pants
  • Vest/Tshirt/Sports Bra Top
  • Loose – non-restrictive clothing
  • Soft stretchy fabrics
  • Try to avoid loose straps that might need adjusting constantly,
  • Minimal jewellery (think about earings getting caught, etc.)
  • You might like your hair up or away from your eyes/face – to help you see in inverted asanas, etc.
  • We usually practice barefoot, but if you have any skin conditions on your feet, or cuts; you might want to cover those with bandaids/bandages or a sock if preferred.
